At ASJ we can plan and produce any event, corporate awards ceremony, wedding breakfast or a special birthday party. Our afternoon tea service is perfect for every special occasion, whats more we can make it personal to you, in fact we have never delivered two afternoon tea services the same.
All of our products are freshly baked and savories freshly prepared on the morning of your event by our dedicated supplier teams.
We have created a sample menu for each of the services that we recommend, we hope these will be a useful guide to you when event planning, but should you have a different idea or exact requirements feel free to tell us, and we will do our best to find exactly what is required. It’s your event and we understand how important it is to you, let us take care of the hard work and bring additional ideas to you… we will never try to tell you how it should be done as every event is personal to you!
Afternoon Tea Catering & Full Vintage Hire – Package 1 £15.00 Per Guest
We have been offering this package for a number of years, it’s tried and tested and as we explained earlier all of our customers have made it personal to them. The overview gives you a good idea of what is included in the cost, but feel free to ask questions!
The service is ideal for weddings and birthday parties, where guests will be seated at tables, rather than standing or via a buffet service.
What’s included (The hire items)
- A vintage china mismatch trio per guest (plate, saucer and cup)
- A three tier cake stand among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- A teapot among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- A coffee pot among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- A sugar bowl among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- A milk jug among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- A serving plate among guests situated on a table (or multiples)
- Cutlery, knife, spoon and fork for every guest.
- A plain white table cloth for each table (please order shape and size in advance)
- Sugar tongs and cake servers
What’s included (The Food!)
- A choice of 6 freshly prepared sandwich types (typically 4 quarters per guest)
- Current Scones served with cream and jam

- Chocolate cake
- Carrot cake
- Lemon cake or Coffee cake
- A shortbread biscuit with iced detail
- Coffee served with sugar and milk
- Tea served with sugar and milk
- Water and fruit juices
- A special dietary option to cater for your guests
The cost for this service includes our full set up, 3 hours staffed service to top up food stands, add to drinks and help clean spillages and help guests find what they need. Unless specified we will choose the cakes and sandwiches provided for you, typically we expect to serve 4 triangle sandwiches, 1 scone, 1 slice of cake, 1 biscuit, clotted cream and jam, you will find that not everyone takes these items allowing for additional portions to other guests.
Afternoon Tea Catering & Full Vintage Hire – Package 2 £17.00 per guest – BUFFET SERVICE
This package has been most suited to our corporate clients, most recently we have provided award ceremony catering for BVSC and also events services for Penderels Trust. This is an upmarket buffet style service, perfect for those special occasions.
What’s included (The hire items)
- A vintage china mismatch trio per guest (plate, saucer and cup)
- A number of three tier cake stands situated on a buffet table
- A number of teapots situated on a serving table
- Coffee pots situated on a serving table
- Sugar bowls from a central serving point with milk jugs
- Serving plates situated on a buffet table
- Extra large cake stands to help the display stand out
- Cutlery, knife, spoon and fork for every guest.
- A plain white table cloth for each table used
- Sugar tongs and cake servers for the cake stands and bowls
- A large celebration cake suited to your corporate event or business
- A decorated and themed cake table
- A doughnut wall to bring the display to life

- A choice of 4 freshly prepared sandwiches

All of these packages are available to everyone, you don’t need to fit our previous customer profile, choose something different and stand out. We will help you make the right choices, if something doesn’t work well we will always help you find something that is perfect to meet the needs of your guests. We don’t simply book customers because we can, we ensure it works, succeeds and that you want to see us again at your event. All of our hire services are provided directly to you by ASJ Events Group, all of our cooked food services are provided by our closely selected suppliers.
