Farewell Afternoon Tea for Penderels Trust

Penderels Trust have been supporting people to live independently since 1988. Penderels asked ASJ to assist with the retirement celebration for one of the most important people within the Trust, the Chief Executive Officer who had taken a huge role in creation of the trust and supporting it’s success for the last 30 years.

The event was to be attended by a number of important delegates, trustees as well as the head office colleagues. With up to 100 guests ready to celebrate in a business setting ASJ set to work planning the special day.

Paula who is one of the senior management team at Penderels, explained that an afternoon tea would be fitting for the event, and that a garden theme would be perfect for the CEO.

We set to work creating a full 24 page event management plan, covering styling, set up, catering amongst other things.

Special diet is extremely important and in such a diverse setting and a workplace, it is essential that all dietary requirements can be met. A menu was drafted for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets. It’s important that menus are inclusive and allow everyone to enjoy their day whilst meeting their needs.

A full vintage tea hire was provided, to include vintage cake stand hire, tea pot hire, vintage trios saucers, cups and side plates. Tablecloth hire, and a full cake table dressing was also provided.

The catering comprised freshly prepared sandwiches with a selection of fillings, a labelled and described serving stand for each of the special dietary options. Our famous flavours sign was provided to advise guests of the options on the table for the special day. Cakes were provided in flavours of coffee, chocolate, lemon and Victoria sponge. Traditional and modern themes made this perfect for a workplace celebration. Some of the guests identified as vegetarian but did not eat egg, we had this covered with sandwiches suitable for vegetarian and egg free diet. Whats more we had plenty of fresh ingredients ready to meet any special requests. Served to compliment the sandwiches and cakes, scones with clotted cream and a selection of jam. Traditional raspberry and strawberry with hand picked blue berry to mix it up a little. Sugar sprinkled shortbread was also on the menu.

The large chocolate cake, hand decorated with real edible organic flowers. A garden theme was the request and this was exactly what our cake table provided, fresh flowers,  trees and a grass like decor.

Our trios table was complimented by our doughnut wall hire, a heart with cups and freshly glazed doughnuts was a huge hit and extremely popular, this may not be traditional but it gave the event the modern edge that made it most suitable for the modern day workplace.

Our events colleagues replenished stands and served fresh afternoon tea and coffee to guests, fruit juice and water was also provided in unlimited amounts.

All of the guests commented how tasty the food and cakes were and how they enjoyed their afternoon. After speeches the food was enjoyed, and most guests returned for a box to take away.

Paula at Penderels has thanked ASJ for all of the hard work and thoughtful additions that made this event just perfect. ASJ will be returning to Penderels once again in June 2018 to bring another event, who knows what the theme will be this time, but with Summer themes comes so many options.
